Why This Site Exists
Printed directories are only one part of Shrewsbury research. Current parcel information comes through the town’s assessment and GIS routes. Recorded ownership is held by the Worcester Registry of Deeds. The Town Clerk administers annual street-list, election, vital-record, certificate, and municipal-record channels. The Shrewsbury Public Library and Historical Society supply the historical shelf. We collect those routes, their access limits, and the terms used by each office so a search can start with the right custodian.
What the Directory Includes
- Searches by question: address-keyed parcel and deed work, historical directory collections, one-person verification, ZIP context, past-address research, and adjacent-parcel context.
- Custodian routes: the Shrewsbury Assessors, Town Clerk, Worcester Registry, court clerks, state offices, library, and Historical Society.
- Practical methods: tracing an address, reading an old directory entry, matching a name carefully, and requesting a record that is not online.
- Access limits: Massachusetts Public Records Law, exclusions in voter and vital material, protected addresses, and custodian verification.
Limits of This Reference
This is a privately operated reference, not a Shrewsbury office, Worcester Registry department, Massachusetts agency, court, or library. Important limits apply:
- We cannot confirm that a particular person currently lives in Shrewsbury
- We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
- We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
- We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
- We cannot guarantee that every collection year, link, or office schedule remains current
Only the office that holds a record can confirm, certify, or correct it. Review the applicable legal and access limits before relying on any external result.
